Our environment impacts our health.
WHEN is a non-profit charitable organization that educates the public and policy makers about environmental health as a key determinant of public health, and advocates for the prevention of environmental health harms.
We have been a trusted source of credible tools and information on emerging environmental health topics since 1994.
We teach individuals and communities how to reduce their risk of illness and injury that can occur from the products we use, the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe
We engage in law reform to better protect vulnerable populations from environmental health harms and to relieve the burden of precautionary consumption from individuals
We leverage women and gender diverse people as catalysts for change
We want to see an end to toxic-related illnesses, but we cannot
make these changes alone.
WHEN advocates for all women, trans, cis, and AFAB (Assigned Female at Birth) individuals. Environmental health harms affect the body differently depending on sex, gender, and other identity factors. We all deserve healthy environments.
Did you attend WTF 2024? Leave us a review
WHEN’s WTF Campaign partnered with the Trinity College Integrated Sustainability Initiative to:
i) Inspire embodied awareness of our health as an integral part of our environment through art and science,
ii) Reveal the social injustices of environmental degradation, and
iii) Promote systemic changes necessary for a better future.
Guests explored art & music, connecting with others around educational booths on environmental health as it intersects with racialization, gender and sex. Learn more about the WTF campaign.
