World Environment Day: It’s time to ...

Today is World Environment Day and this year’s theme is #BeatPlasticPollution.

With human health at risk, government must do better at getting plastics off the shelves and out of healthcare settings where possible. With the recent success of a modernized Canadian Environmental Protection Act that will – for the first time in federal law – include the right to a healthy environment, reducing plastics is not only possible but a right to be acknowledged for the sake of human and planetary health. But action cannot stop there.

Volunteers Needed!

WHEN’s annual fundraising campaign, the Cancer Prevention Challenge (CPC), is right around the corner and we need volunteers to help with the campaign bulletin! During the CPC campaign, which runs from August to October, WHEN will be distributing a biweekly bulletin to keep CPC participants motivated and informed.  WHEN needs writers and other contributors to help with the content.

In past years, volunteer contributors, who are experts in their fields (e.g., naturopaths, acupuncturists) or seasoned researchers, have provided content for feature articles about a range of topics relevant to cancer prevention. This year, in addition to feature articles, we are welcoming contributions of:

  • Tips
  • Photos
  • Recipes
  • Personal stories
  • Book reviews
  • Other ideas? – Let us know. We are always open to new and creative ideas.
